I’ve been anxiously waiting for the past several months for this new raw vegan restaurant in Pensacola, Florida to open. Actually, I thought it was going to be a vegan restaurant with a few raw options, so I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the entire menu consisted of raw food! It would be an understatement to say I’m quite excited about this new dining experience!
Live Juice Bar and More is located at 532 Garden Street in downtown Pensacola and is a very comfortable and nicely decorated venue. They plan to feature a different artist every 6 weeks to keep the look fresh and be part of the growing art scene in the area.
The current artist hanging on the wall is Rafi Perez of Rafi Was Here Studios, and I must tell you, I really dig his work! Come out and enjoy his exhibit reception on Saturday, September 15th from 7-9pm. There will be live music, food, drink and more! The exhibit will feature over 80 pieces of art, and if you feel inspired you can buy one and take it home!
There is a stage in one of the rooms with plenty of space for live music! They’ve already had a number of performances in the short time they’ve been open. I look forward to seeing who they have planned to play for the exhibit reception on the 15th!
The menu is amazing and they will be slowly adding more items. The only problem I see is that it will be too hard to choose! I came with a big appetite so I could sample a few different things. I was up in the air between the Eggplant BLT and the Beet and Walnut Burger so I had both!
The raw vegan BLT was very simple but delicious! It was dehydrated eggplant bacon, tomato and avocado in a lovely natural wrap. Both sandwiches came with a generous portion of homemade kale chips, which I enjoyed almost as much as the sandwiches! I will probably buy some to bring home with me on my next trip there.
Both meals were really good but the beet/ walnut burger was my favourite! I must say I tore into this one so fast I didn’t take note of everything that was on it! In addition to the patty, there were some veggies, sprouts and tomato. I can definitely say you won’t be disappointed!
It’s going to take a while for me to work my way through the menu at Live as I literally would like to try everything on the menu! In addition to the great food, they have a full menu of juices and smoothies as you can see at the top of this article. The hours of operation are 8:00 am – 8:00 pm Tuesday – Saturday and 11:00 am to 4:00 pm on Sunday. The restaurant is closed on Monday.
The next time you find yourself in downtown Pensacola, go by and check them out! Don’t hesitate to give them a try if you aren’t raw, or even vegan. Good has always been good to me and I remember enjoying tasty vegan food many times long before I became a vegan myself! Who knows? The food might impress you so much that it inspires a new way of life! To be continued after I eat there again!
